For over ten years, Lola has had the privilege of being a guest speaker on the CRYSTAL cruise line for three consecutive cruises. Lola uses the word “privilege,” because of the opportunity to take a working vacation that would otherwise cost her an average of $1,600 a day (for both her and husband Hank) to say nothing of the sheer pleasure of traveling with CRYSTAL, probably the best cruise line afloat. Lola performs only when the ship is at sea, and, even then only three to four times a week. Occasionally, she joins the production crew for a fun night of evening entertainment.
The exciting benefits of cruise work are that Lola and Hank have traveled around the world in the last ten years and seen places that they had only dreamed of seeing. But most of all, cruising takes Lola away from her desk, giving her a chance to write new material to try out in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Lola adds that it’s fun to dress formally once or twice a week, which most of us don’t do that often. Of course, each day aboard ship is filled with top entertainment and gourmet food.
Even with all that, having recently completed six weeks of cruise work, Lola says there’s no place like home, or a bed that’s as comfortable as her own nest. “But”, she adds, “Speakers have to travel, and CRYSTAL CRUISES is a great way to go.”
